Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair

We are beyond happy with the job these guys have done! Adam Elmore was our salesman and he was very well informed, and was happy to answer any questions. We had complete peace of mind when he left, knowing we were in good hands. Frontier came out very quickly to encapsulate our crawl space. Fernando, Jose, and Alex did a fantastic job with the encapsulation and got the entire job done in one day. These guys were very helpful and communicative, they did a fantastic job. They were very professional & made sure they cleaned up after themselves. We definitely made the right choice using Frontier. It's only been a few weeks since they did the job and we just had a horrible flood. We have a creek very close to our house, so we had a strong current going through our backyard that knocked one of the pipes to the sump pump loose. I told Fernando and he came out to our home within a few hours. He fixed the pipe and took a look around to check and make sure everything was working, as it should, after the flood. I am so impressed by this, this is a great company that does amazing work. I am a Realtor, and I will happily recommend this company to all of my clients, with complete confidence, that frontier will go above and beyond to take care of them too.

Waylon Huskey provided us with outstanding customer service. He was clean-cut, professional, respectful and articulate. He proved to be knowledgeable about every detail when asked very pointed questions. I would recommend him highly. My repairs won’t be made until July, but I will be sure to come back and give a review of the company as a whole after the job is completed. As of now I would say I am highly pleased.

This was my second time using Frontier. I had beams and smart-jacks put in a couple of years ago. They did such a fine job in my old (built in 1950) house, I called on them again to encapsulate the crawlspace. Fernando and Alex did a fantastic job. Above and beyond the call! Would not hesitate to recommend.

First I want to say how incredibly nervous my husband and I were to hire someone to fix our foundation. We knew it needed to be done, but who could we trust? We called multiple companies and all just didn't feel right. We had low bids and high bids. They all had different ideas on what the problem was. I decided to check out Google reviews and then a subReddit all about foundation issues in and around Nashville, TN area. Frontier Foundation time and again had glowing recommendations for their superior service all the way around. Many of those who recommended them had gone with another company who caused more problems and Frontier came in and fixed their issue. We called and set up an appointment for an inspection. We immediately felt more at ease with Jacob. We went ahead and set up to have Frontier fix our foundation. Frontier stayed in contact with us throughout the process via email and phone calls. It ended up the team working on our house was able to come a few days earlier. Frontier called my husband and we said sure! We were very anxious to have the work done. Benji, Christian M. and Memphis called to let us know when they would arrive each day (which is honestly really awesome). Benji looked over the job and put his problem solving skills to work. We had an issue with our foundation that needed both piers and I-beams. His team excavated and really looked at the problem and said he needed to regroup and head back to the office so they could come at this from a different angle. They came up with a plan that didn't cost us anymore than the original bid and they were able to stabilize the wall and make sure we wouldn't have any more issues. They were honest, hard working and genuinely great group of guys. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future and we will definitely schedule an annual check-up with them. Excellent work from start to finish! The salesman was friendly, responsive, knowledgeable & explained everything in an easy to understand way, instead of using a bunch of industry jargon. Lots of communication with reminders from the office about when the project would start & to confirm the start date/time with me. The only hiccup here was the morning before the project was to start, I received 2 different emails from Frontier, both with different balance owed amounts from what was originally quoted by the salesman. The balance I ended up paying was the original amount quoted by the salesman. I would like to see their system fixed so that this doesn't happen, because it can be confusing in trying to prepare payment & not knowing which amount to go with. On project start day (the salesman said the project would take 3 days to complete) the foreman, Fernando, along with his crew of Jose & Alex did a PHENOMENAL job!! Fernando was extremely friendly & professional; a true credit to the company! The crew worked quickly (I didn't even see/hear them take a lunch break) & completed a supposedly 3 day job in 1 day! Fernando explained everything they had done to me, showed me how the system works, & made sure to answer all of my questions without feeling rushed to get off to another job site. The crew left the work space in better shape than it was when they arrived. Overall, my family & I are very satisfied with the workmanship & service we received from Frontier!

The 3-star rating is an “average” rating of the 3 organizations (Sales, Customer Service, and Production) I dealt with for a Radon Mitigation System installation. I will address each organization separately: (1) SALES - 2-Stars. The ‘good’ is that they were friendly; The ‘bad’ is that they were lacking in project knowledge and Code requirements; The ‘ugly’ is that they promised work/material that would be done or provided by the contractor, but once the contract is signed, those promises are forgotten and they will not respond to request for information and completely ignore you. Advise: ensure the contract details all the work AND materials. Do not rely on a statement “no worries, no surprises”. On my project, there were plenty of surprises. (2). CUSTOMER SERVICES - 3-4 Stars. They were ‘very’ friendly, but tend to communicate through “text”. When I was unable to get a response from SALES, I asked Customer Service to help me get answers to my questions. I got a text that they would pass the request on and someone would call me back. I am still waiting. (3) PRODUCTION - 5-Stars. FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. I’ve attached pictures of their work and I will mention the workers by name: Will (foreman), Darian, and Jacob. Thank you for your professional work. You are a credit to your Company. Bottom line: dealing with some of the organizations within Frontier has been a frustrating experience. However, because of the work done by PRODUCTION (Will, Darian, and Jacob), I do recommend Frontier services. Just be careful before signing.

Isai, Rafael, Sean, Michael, and Cody were all exceptional. They were on time and happy to explain their work along the way and accommodated my request for taking care of the yard/landscaping to minimize the impact of their work. Really happy with the final look of the work and could clearly see the leveling and lifting of the porch and steps.

Our low and tight crawl space in recently purchased cabin was wet, dank and inadequately sealed allowing all sorts of critters into the space. Leaks from water pump and plumbing fittings along with ground water running under cabin resulted in high moisture content in the joists and support beams causing black mold, fungus and mildew growth. The cabin floor was sagging in areas to the extent you could see the rise and fall in the floors due to ground heaving and settling of posts/footers. The kitchen and laundry appliances were not level and required additional shims to bring them level. We contacted Frontier Foundation and Crawl Space Repair for professional help to fix these issues. John came out and provided detailed overview of their approach and solutions to fix the floor issues and to encapsulate the crawl space to stop water and critter intrusion and mediate mold/mildew growth. John was very upfront on the pricing, which was sobering, but in the end worth the peace of mind the life of the cabin floor joists and posts/ support beams would be extended along with having a dehumidified and encapsulated crawl space with controlled moisture levels and sump pump to deal with any water intrusion or moisture issues. Prior to their arrival and to save money, I fixed the pump and plumbing leaks, dug trenches around front of cabin to divert ground water, cleaned out the crawl space of debris and removed the rigid insulation boards attached to bottom of joists, which were providing a protected nesting area for mice and chipmunks, and sealed up entry points to help keep out critters. When Alex and his two person crew arrived on the scheduled date they quickly verified the situation and needed materials and installed the heavy duty adjustable structural support jacks/steel beam system to bring the floor as close to level as possible and prevent further sagging. They installed a drainage system around entire perimeter of foundation/crawl space that connected into their sump pump system. They put down layer of ground insulation material and covered with thick vapor barrier covering the floor and walls of the entire crawl space, sealing seams with specialty tape and foam insulation. They installed new crawl space access door and installed properly rated dehumidifier that drains into sump pump. Alex kept me informed answering all questions and showing me the work as they progressed. You can now go into the crawl space in your street clothes. Before, needed full length Tyvek protective suit, eye protection, mask, and gloves due to crawling critters, living and dead mice, debris, muddy, dank, and wet/moldy smelling conditions. The crawl space can now be safely used as additional storage space for things like seasonal decoration items and such to free up storage space in the cabin. In hindsight, wish I would have spent more time leveling/digging out crawl space floor area near the access door so could store more things. You lose a few inches of crawl space door size due to wood frame for the new, snug fitting sealed door, but it still allows enough room to get fairly big items into the crawl space. They did identify a post supporting the kitchen area joists/beam as too tall by about ¾ of an inch causing a hump in the floor in the kitchen. Since it was against their policy to cut down this post (not sure why they have this policy given the types of foundation repair work they offer) I took care of cutting down the top of the post after they completed their work and then lowered the adjustable structural support jack a few turns which allowed the kitchen floor to come down to fully level and further reduce the floor hump in the kitchen. Regardless, I’m very happy with the final result and now have a stable foundation support structure and fully accessible crawl space in a clean, dry, critter free space with easy access to plumbing, electrical and support structures for any future repairs or modifications.
