McGrew Service Company

I’ve had a whole house Generator, 20KW, Kohler, since 2013. I’ve had several companies service my generator over the years. Most of them did an oil change, annually. I ran into a problem with my Generator that needed more than an oil change. I Googled a search to try to find some help. That’s how I found McGrew Service Company. I spoke with the lady, that answered my call, and she said she would have someone to call me. That’s when I first spoke with Brett. I could tell that he was different than most I had called. He took the time with me on the call explaining what needed to be done. He offered some things I could try myself. Never had anyone offer that to me. However I’m not comfortable dealing with electrical things, even though I probably could have tried it. I thought I needed an entire new control panel, as the LED display wasn’t working, as most had suggested. Because of that, I figured from our conversation, I could trust him to help me, and not just gouge me unnecessarily. The control panel cost around $1500. I scheduled an appointment with them. He came over a couple of days later. He helped me a lot. Come to find out all that was needed was to unplug the control panel, and plug it back in. Sort of what I do with my box on my Comcast TV box. He checked everything else out while he was here. I had just had my oil changed. He said everything looked good. He did inform me that if a generator runs 24 hours, the oil needs to be changed. Also to replace the air filter when replacing the battery, as my generator isn’t around a dusty environment. He has a vast knowledge of Generators, and the information he went over with me, was refreshing to know. I recommend Brett and his company to take care of Whole house generators, as he’s the best I’ve dealt with 10 years of owning one. I’m so glad I found this company, even though they are based in Hot Springs, they have several customers in the Little Rock area they take care of…. Ron Harrington

Generator Repair - not only did they return my call but set up a service call for the next day. Brett came out and was professional and very knowledgeable about our generator and what was wrong. Repair was completed on that visit and the bill did not knock me to my knees… 😂

Andrew with McGrew came out to the property I work at to look into an electrical issue we have been having with our pond pump. He showed up on time, actually earlier than we had expected...which is always a plus :) He was professional and he was truly so patient in the way he offered a detailed explanation of the issue and what the necessary fix should be. He took accountability in a way that I have not seen in quite some time which was extremely refreshing! Thank you Andrew for your help today!!!

Living in an older home, there are bound to be electrical issues that make you scratch your head back at what the original electrician was thinking! Our electrician was able to discover a major issue impacting our ability to get some LED recessed lighting up and running. Most folks would not have taken the time to be so thorough and resolve the issue. I asked for an additional outlet to be wired in a bathroom remodel as well and he knocked that out in no time at all. Pricing was reasonable and I feel I got a lot of value for the level of service given.

We have called McGrew several times with emergencies -- paddle fan that came out of the ceiling -- and regular repairs. Brett and Jared have done all the work. They did an excellent job, and also did a great job of helping us understand what they were doing. They offered great alternatives and did great work. We love working with such nice and smart folks!

The quality of service was outstanding. Chris took the time to ensure that the installation of our 10 kW generator was performed safely and in a timely manner. Additionally, he was very concise in explaining important points regarding overall operation and specific considerations for safe and efficient performance of the power plant.

I have known Chris for a couple of years. He installed a generator for my Mother. At her passing, Chris moved generator to my home next door. Installation at both places were done were done in a timely manner. Chris is very professional and always open to questions of which he answered in a way that it was easy to understand. Jason came out to give a bid on the work requested job. They were very fair and reasonable. We ordered the service and they were able to come out the same day. Jason was fabulous and very courteous. To be very honest, the work done was better than I was anticipating. We will definitely be using McGrew electric again.
