Great job on my fence, couldn't be more pleased. Their work looks great, gates open and close perfect. Not one thing I could call them back to complain about. They started and finished in the time frame he told me. ( which I thought was impossible). Actually finished faster. Great work guys... thank you

They did a great job with our privacy fence and even came out afterwards to assist with moving the gate when we decided to move it. Very professional and helpful. I spoke with Dakota and Carol. They were both kind and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Review update: After posting this review, Shelby Fence agreed to come and correct the issue with the sprinklers. I have raised the review up to 3 stars for that reason. I think it is unfortunate that it should take someone writing an online review for a company to stand by their work, however, I do acknowledge that in the end they fixed my issue and I am overall happy with the fence. Previous review: I had a fence installed in January and when I ran my sprinklers for the first time, I discovered that they fenced directly over an above-ground sprinkler head, making it completely unusable. I called and asked them what they would do to correct this, and they basically told me that it wasn't their problem and that I'd have to figure it out on my own. I was told that their contract waives them of any liability because it tells homeowners that we are responsible for identifying non-utility "underground structures." A visible above-ground sprinkler head is not, by any stretch of the imagination, an underground structure. It is literally sitting above the ground. When I spend nearly $10k on a fence, I expect that, at the very least, they'd have a conversation with me about placement to ensure that I was ok with it being plopped right down on my sprinklers, making them unusable. It's not like it is a hidden sprinkler, either. The grass was brown (winter) and the sprinkler is as obvious as a sore thumb. While the fence otherwise looks nice enough, I can't recommend a company that cares this little about the satisfaction of their clients.

I call this review The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The Good: 1) I have a fence in my backyard to keep my dogs in and I paid a fair price. 2) They weren't the lowest quote I received but they weren't the highest either. 3) They quoted me 6 weeks to start the job and they were on time and finished within the timeframe anticipated. If that's all you care about, I highly recommend these guys. If you care about a positive customer experience and not having to beg them to complete the job properly, then I suggest you keep reading... The Bad: 1) Their communication was fine leading up to the job but as soon as the problems were discovered by their shoddy work (I noticed it the same day they finished and emailed that day), I had to follow up over and over to get them to respond. 2) I had to reach out a multitude of times to convince them to come out and they kept asking for additional evidence to prove something was wrong. 3) I was out of town when they came to fix it and they never told me that they came out or followed up to see if I was happy with the outcome. If they had done #3, the rating on this review would have been much higher. The Ugly: 1) They installed the fence on top of a sprinkler head so I couldn't use the sprinkler anymore. 2) They didn't properly secure the gate to the wall so it fell apart each time we opened it with exposed nails on the ground facing up. 3) They had to dig into the ground to install the fence posts and they left the red clay everywhere. See Photos. They eventually fixed everything but they ghosted me. For the price I paid for the fence and how highly they came recommended, I guess I just expected a different experience. Again, if you want a fence for a fair price, they're good. That's all I recommend.

Fencing seams to be booked up everywhere during these stay at home times. We called for an estimate in March. Th estimator came in July as promised. Our build date was the week of 10/19. Great, great quality wood fence to replace a 50 year old fence. I needed a couple additional things taken care of while they were here this week and it was handled with class and courtesy. It was a long wait, but worth it. Great customer service and quality work at a fair price. I can't stop looking at our back yard now because it looks so good! Thank you Tim, Carol, and the entire team at Shelby Fence!

Our company hired Shelby Fence to put in $10,000 dollars worth of fencing no one called to schedule an appointment so our owner wasn’t here onsite. The OWNER! of Shelby Fence showed up and had a work order with exact drawings but didn’t know anything about where he was to start or any other information (Can we say poor planning). I then called our owner he said he would be back at our office in one hour to let the fence guy know he could start unloading the material and he would show him everything as soon as he arrived. The OWNER of Shelby Fence in front of 3 women was totally disrespectful!!! Then just WALKED OUT and said he had other jobs to do and didn’t have time to wait an hour for my boss to arrive. The entire job had previously been walked through already!! The OWNER of Shelby Fence then walked out the door and left. I followed him and “said where are you going? you can start unloading the material” which is what I thought he went to do. He said “I PASS” I don’t have time to wait I have other jobs. (Try calling your customers to schedule a time would be a great start!) I then called their office the only nice person was the woman that answered the phone!... (Thank you to that lady, she was helpful & kind).. The owner of Shelby fence then called my boss and told him he that he wasn’t doing the job and that he had just left our office. He told my boss he could COULD CARE LESS about doing the job. I can’t even imagine working for a company like that that straight out says I COULD CARE LESS! And for the record we had been waiting months on them to do the job we could have had it done 10 times over already with a different company. This company is just ridiculous! RUN AWAY!

Response from the owner

Jennifer, we regret your distress. However, the fact remains that appointments are scheduled and confirmed before we head out to a site. Also, any delay in work, especially an hour, costs us time which affects our scheduling and commitment to other projects. We strive to respect everyone, irrespective of their gender, and it's unacceptable to be accused otherwise without proper context. With the owner on site, it's not unusual to expect some knowledge about the project. It's unfortunate that your experience with us was not positive, but we always ensure we are running a tight ship to accommodate our clients. We'll ensure this serves as feedback to improve our service. Thanks for your time.

PROS: They were quick to come out and build my fence. Everything looked great and they had it up in 2 days. CONS: Found many dropped nails in my yard. We have dogs and kids so that is a problem. Asked one of the workers if they use a magnet to go after and clean up any dropped nails and he said no. The gate they installed is now warped and so are many of the boards. I have been waiting over 3 months for a repair. I have called and sent many emails. They are replying, but just keep delaying. I would not recommend them. They are quick with their work, but who isn’t after you pay them 2-3,000$ Find another company, there are many more in the local area who take pride in their work and honor their warranty.

We just got our fence installed by Shelby Fence Company. They did an amazing job. They came yesterday to pour concrete for the post so that it would dry over night. This afternoon they came and install the fence. The fence took less than an hour to install and it's beautiful. They did it the same as the estimate diagram. Shelton and Chad were very professional and available for questions. Shelton said that if we have any problems to contact them and they will take care of it. There was a gap on the gate that has to be there to allow for expansion, but I still wanted it covered a little. Chad found a way to take care of it, it was very creative. Such nice guys! We highly recommend them.

Response from the owner

Hello Angelia Terry, We're doing a happy fence dance over your fantastic review! We're so glad you enjoyed Sheldon and Chad's mix of professionalism, creativity, and friendliness - they are indeed our 'solid posts' in the field of fence-building. Your comments are a 'wooden spoonful of joy' to us! Your fence was a labor of love, built 'post haste' (get it?) and with great care. And as Chad has shown, we always find ways to 'seal the gaps', literally and figuratively! Anyone else reading this who wants a fence so beautiful it'll make their neighbors green(er) with envy - just give us a call! We work tirelessly to make sure that your wishes don’t 'fall through the cracks' (last fence humor, promise!). Thank you again for the high rating and
