Ben and his team helped us find the right heat pump to work for our needs and get us fully off oil. It only took one day for the team to remove our old furnace and air conditioning condenser and replace with an air to air heat pump. They took the time to explain our new setup so we felt confident going into the winter with a new heating system. I appreciate that they are very thorough in their work and responsive to inquiries. Reached out to Ben about a heat pump install estimate. He got back to me right away, worked around my crazy schedule and came by early in the morning for an estimate I think the next day. I had one estimate already before he came, and it was a night/day experience. He answered every question and gave relevant numbers to help me gauge what installing the system would do to my energy bill. He was able to do a few measurements on the spot and gave me a rough ball park right away of work needed and the costs, and the actual quote a few hours later which was consistent. Other companies sent guys who gave inconsistent info, couldnt answer specific questions or sometimes just gave wrong info. Bens years of experience and dedication to his profession were very apparent in comparison. Price wise he was extremely competitive, and transparent. He didnt upcharge for things other companies did. He was timely to answer follow up questions, and again always honest. One other company was similar in price, but my experience with Ben and the fact that his is a family owned business gave him the edge. He gave a time period that he thought he could get it done in, and was true to that as well. Work was done efficiently, all in one day. They even registered my warranty and sent over rebate forms and instructions the same day. Highly recommend this company for any HVAC needs and will go back to them in the future.

Ben, his brother and nephew just completed an oil furnace change out and installation of a heat pump for me and I'm very pleased with the results. From providing detailed options on replacing ancient oil furnace and central air unit to job completion Ben went above and beyond. He was patient and detailed when explaining all things HVAC, especially regarding options that would meet my needs. I went with the Bosch IDS Heat Pump and Regal Oil Furnace. Installation took a day a half. Ben and crew arrived on time and we're thorough, detailed, and efficient. They even installed and programmed a new thermostat and took the time afterwards to walk me through the new equipment and provided guidance for filters and recommend maintenance. If you're in the market for an HVAC upgrade of any kind, new install, etc I highly recommend contacting Highwood Mechanical.
