My company, a hotel, spent close to $100,000 for a dehumidifier for our indoor pool in 2019. Due to Covid, we closed the pool for 2 years and had to have Link come back out and troubleshoot a problem which was fixed perfectly in early 2023. Last week the blower motor blew and we had Mike from Link come out to service it. Excellent technician but he had to call and order the part and advised me the office would call back later in the day with the price and availability. That was Thursday 1/18/24 by 4PM I was concerned that I did not get a quote or availability so I called. I never got through their switchboard got looped from the operator to the customer service lines but got no one on the phone. Tried all day Friday and Monday. Tuesday, I finally got a not very nice lady who proceeded to put me on hold for 20 minutes before Mike Sewall got on the phone. It was clear he had never priced the part nor checked availability. Finally at 2PM Tues I got a quote with an apology for the delay for $8300 to replace a blower motor. That plus the $800 they already billed my Amex for troubleshooting. I made 2 calls and ordered the part for $3500 including shipping. I got a referral for another company to install it for $1000. I knew it would not be a cheap repair but the difference is $4500 vs $9100 from Link. That is price gouging. This for a unit they sold and installed new in 2019.
