Honest and efficient! After dealing with another company, who had been at my property 4 times to fix my furnace and it would keep tripping, I called R&W and they came quickly, charged HALF the hourly rate of the other company and FIXED the furnace in 20 minutes!

They charge way too much and may suggest unnecessary repairs. I paid well over $200 for them to come out and look at my furnace. For this, I would expect the technician to be testing everything and find out where the issue is. However, they took less than 15 minutes to diagnose the "issue" of a bad pressure switch and inducer assembly, which was my layman initial observation. This was not the problem. My actual issue ended up being with the control board. Instead of spending the time to figure out what the problem was, it was easier for them to suggest replacing what seemed to be broken upon first glance and go from there. Specifically, the pressure switch ended up being completely fine and did not need to be replaced. The inducer was a bit loud, but it was not the source of the problem. The quote for parts and labor was outrageously expensive. When I called to question the pricing, I was told they made a mistake and overcharged me by a hundred dollars. What if I didn't say anything? They were even trying to upsell me on stuff I really didn't need. I was rather skeptical and decided to shop elsewhere. I called a different company. It was about half the price to do the same job with the same parts. They were out in two days and replaced the inducer + switch. When the replacements didn't fix the issue, they found the actual problem (control board) and fixed it in the same day. All of this for less than the original quote from R&W. After seeing a fantastic technician from a different company go through the process of tediously checking every wire of the control board to correctly discern the problem, I cannot in good faith say that R&W will provide you with quality service. I am glad that I called a different company. I cannot imagine the price I would have paid for them to replace a control board, if they even figured out that problem at all.

R & W Heating recently replaced our old 24 year old propane furnace and all associated piping, pumps, and controls with a new Viessmann high efficiency floor standing gas boiler. From start to finish every aspect of the work was professional, courteous, well designed, and done with great skill and attention to detail. The new heating system looks great and the performance is much better and more efficient (95 percent) than the old one. Everyone at R&W Heating was a pleasure to speak to and work with on the project. They explained everything and answered all of our questions. We are very satisfied with our new heating system! If your looking for the best at a fair price you just found them!

Several of our neighbors in our Colchester community have used R&W Heating Energy Solutions for different needs in their homes. They indicated to me that if I needed any kind of service that R&W provided to hire them because they were a “top-notch“ company to do business with. When my brother indicated to me that he needed his hot air and AC ducts cleaned, I recommended R&W Heating. Professional, outstanding, honest, and reliable are just a few words to describe my experience with this company. Furnace would not run, had no heat and with two small children it made for a bad situation. Not being a customer, they sent out a tech within 2 hours. Ray met me at my front door with a smile on his face and immediately made me feel calmer about the situation. An hour and a half later, he was leaving and my furnace was back up and running in better condition than before. The price was fair and reasonable. They have my business from here on out, I couldn't have asked for a better experience for an emergency situation. Big kudos to the tech, Ray, he was a breath of fresh air and we hope to see him for our yearly maintenance cleanings.

Saturday 7 a.m. and 12 degrees with wind chill. Furnace not working! Dakota was at our door within 90 minutes of our emergency call. Fixed before 10 a.m. We give TEN STARS.

If I could give a zero I would. Came out and said my furnace was beyond repair. Yes it's old, yes it's been 2 years since they serviced it. They didn't even bother to see what was wrong because it's old and hadn't been serviced in a long time(2 years and they were the ones who serviced it last). Charged me $160 to lie to me. The guy who came out said something different than the office person I just talked to. It took Riley 's 15 minutes and one part to get the furnace going. Shame on R&W for the misinformation. Mind you when I first called them I told them the furnace was old... so why not just tell me then they wouldn't work in it?

I love to do my research before doing anything, especially when it comes to projects around the house. This company offered me the best deal around! From the owners to the office staff and techs that came to my home, they were very professional, knowledgeable and punctual. They really guided me through every step that needed to be completed. With that said, I recommend them and currently so happy with my system! Thank you again! 🙂
