Lumina Solar

I recently had a Solar Panel System installed by Lumina Solar and I could not be happier with the entire experience. The wonderful reviews you see for this company are certainly something worth echoing. I purposely waited 6 months from installation to write this review, in case issues popped up after. From initial consultation to final inspection, the entire crew was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Alison Sanders, my initial consultant, could not be any more helpful. She has been exceptional throughout the initial process and even months after my system has been turned on. - The engineering team designed my system to perfectly meet my energy needs. - The installation team was punctual, courteous, and did an amazing job with no conduit being exposed anywhere on my roof or the surface of the house. They kept me informed throughout the process and left my home in clean and tidy manner. My system size is roughly 20kw from 50 panels. I have had ZERO leaks or issues since installation 6 months ago. - The administrative staff navigated my HOA and ALL the other filings with local government to ensure that my process went without a hitch. I highly recommend Lumina Solar to anyone that is considering solar panels. I just sat back, trusted them and at the end I was left with a stress free outcome.

We've been thinking about going solar for a while. Now that we're likely staying in our house longer than anticipated we decided to pull the trigger. We obtained 5 quotes, it boiled down to a few contenders, but Lumina Solar stood out as one that seemed to have great customer service, good equipment, fair financing and nice warranty options....so we stuck with them. So far absolutely no regrets. The process has taken some time, and we couldn't squeeze the amount of panels we thought we could initially, but nonetheless this company has been great to deal with. Panels were installed yesterday, the crew was awesome. They were done efficiently and effectively. Communication was great throughout. Our sales rep did a great job keeping us in the loop and explaining the details. Looking forward to the inspection, new meter, and then flipping the big switch to ON.

Lumina made our solar panel installation easy. Gabriel was a friendly and helpful customer representative, adjusting the initial proposal to reflect our preferences, and throughout the process email questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. The team followed up and made sure that we got our state rebate and renewable energy credits. Well done.

Overall, I was very appreciative and thankful for Charlie, for assisting me with my solar investment project. He was not pushy, or berating as far as trying to get in touch with me, nor did he try to “hard sell” me. Many solar company’s, helped me make my decision because they simply annoyed the hell out of me, even before getting a quote or speaking to anyone specifically. 5+ calls a day from one company, is entirely too much. Lumina, did no such thing. For that, thank you. They were very timely as a team as far as scheduling the inspection process, and moving forwards efficiently. Their communication was very clear throughout. If I had any questions, Charlie was there, and willing to answer anything. He was very easy to speak with, even down to the final days of the project installation, and following. The installation itself, was complete within 7 hours. The only reason I had a delay in scheduling, is because I wanted to remove a large impeding tree, prior to solar install. Lumina and team, accommodated appropriately, and effectively. Make sure you do your complete research on financing payments with solar installations. The incentives are vast, and Lumina will walk you through am every step of the way, including paperwork, and what to do and when.

My experience with Lumina Solar has been beyond great. I started out as someone completely NOT interested in solar, but I figured that I would at least investigate since BGE electric rates are on the rise. I met with 3 solar companies in September 2023 and my meeting with Lumina was by far the best. Andrew Cimino (Lumina sales rep) showed up to the meeting on time and prepared with a preliminary 3D design and aerial view of solar panels install on my house showing the best configuration to maximize my solar system output. He also showed me a detailed breakdown estimate of what I could expect to save with my solar system from years 1-25. Plus, the software used by Lumina to calculate system performance and the Proposal package was top notch. Andrew took time to thoroughly answer all my questions (and I had a lot of questions). Lumina's quote was also extremely competitive and very reasonable IMO. Fast forward to January 2024. At this point, I had reached the end of the internet on solar research, looked at all the reviews, compared all the companies, and run all the financials to make sure this was a wise investment for my family, and I was not making a mistake going with Lumina. I reached back out to Andrew and told him I was finally ready to move forward with the solar project. Andrew provided me with an updated design/proposal, and I electronically signed off on all the paperwork. My final solar design was a 29 panel (REC Pure 405w) 11.75 kW system with Enphase iQ8M inverters. From there, it was smooth sailing. Lumina pretty much handled everything (I mean EVERYTHING). From the HOA application (thanks Cara F.) to the AA count permit (thanks Brooke M.), to BGE Net metering application, to the roof survey and scheduling the install (thanks Caitlin Z.), to the Maryland Grant Application (thanks Cara F,), to the SREC account, etc. Lumina has a point person for each of these efforts and the hand-off and interaction was completely seamless. It is important to note that Andrew didn't disappear during this process, even though he was out of the country for 2 weeks on planned vacation during my install. He was copied all emails and continued to check-in with me (even while on vacation) as he monitored the entire process. Catie M, Branch Sales Manager, stepped in to answer some last-minute warranty questions so Andrew could actually enjoy his vacation. I level of customer care Lumina provides is phenomenal. I never once felt like I could not get ahold of someone from Lumina to answer my questions. EVERYONE was VERY responsive and willing to help. On the system installation day. The crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job with the installation. I was nervous because our house was a new construction (2 years old), and I was not excited to have a bunch of holes drilled into my new roof/home. But Mike (Installation Manger) and Jorge (Electrician) explained everything. The installation was SUPER clean! I could not be happier. I was looking for anything I didn’t like or something that could have been done better with the installation, and I could NOT find anything wrong or that didn’t meet my expectations. The installation crew even recommended routing some of the conduit in a way that would better hide it beneath my siding. The crew did a thorough clean up before leaving. It has been about a month since my system was activated, and I enjoy checking the Enphase app to see how much energy my system is generating and when I’m over-producing and exporting energy back to the grid for credit/SRECS! I haven’t received my first BGE bill yet with the savings or my first SREC payment, but I will update this post once I do. In summary…Lumina is the BEST!!! I have no complaints about any part of my solar experience with them, only praises. The level of care, guidance, and communication Lumina provided throughout my solar project was reassuring and made me feel confident that Lumina was taking care of everything behind the scenes. Lumina was incredibly organized, communicated often and clearly, and followed through on their promises. We're excited to see our first $0 bill from our utility company. They are reputable nationally, and they have a 25-year service warranty.

After conducting thorough research, we made the decision to choose Lumina Solar, which came highly recommended by our neighbor. Our experience with Christopher at Lumina, was nothing short of exceptional. During our initial consultation, Christopher patiently addressed all our inquiries related to system design, approval procedures, and production. The installation crew, too, was professionalism and punctual. They meticulously explained the system’s functionality, going above and beyond by investigating an unrelated electrical issue within our home. Throughout the entire process, the Lumina team very supportive, promptly responding to our emails. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Lumina Solar and commend Christopher for his outstanding service.

Tim Cooke listened to my needs and came up with an excellent design, sized to meet growing future needs such as EV charging. I obtained estimates from numerous companies. Not only did Lumina come highly recommended by friends and neighbors, their unit price per kW was the best. Install went very smoothly and the system is doing very well.
