I chose Solar SME as my solar system installer. I consider myself a smart buyer who does his homework before making a purchase like this. Here is my assessment about Solar SME so far: 1 - They will compete well on price. It's a plus 2 - They lack resources and will ask you pay in advance to procure materials and arranged required labor. A negative but not show stopper. 3 - There installation team is certainly not the best. They handled material and my roof in sub optimal way. I still have a pending roof repair request after 4 months of installation. 4 - They made a number of mistakes while configuring the system that are all preventable. Four different issues so far. 5 - Real disappointment is their response to resolve those issues. I have my system with reporting errors for more than 11 days and had talked to number of people about it. Commitments, one after another to no avail. I will continue to update this review, how it goes.

Mohammad and his team (Jose “electrician”, Rakan “roofer” and Udwan “roofer”) did a wonderful job installing solar panels on my roof. Work was interrupted by rain on the first day, but they were able to get everything done before 4pm the next day. They also followed up to work with the inspectors to make sure everything was good. I would use them again for my solar panel needs if we ever move to a different house.

Solar SME contacted me after I expressed interest in solar using a third party solar aggregator. Another solar company said my location wasn’t ideal because of too many trees. Solar SME tried to sell me a solar package that I knew was not going to be profitable for me. They continued to email and call and text me after I repeatedly told them I was no longer interested in solar. It’s been more than six months and they are still contacting me (in violation of federal anti-SPAM laws).

Mohammad, Mario, and their team did a fantastic job of communicating and quickly completing our solar install. They were quick to answer questions and coordinate with our electrical provider.

We had a positive experience working with Solar SME for our installation in our Baltimore city row home. The price was very competitive and the installation occurred without any defects (eg no leaky roofs). Our contact Johan was very attentive to our concerns about our roof and would usually respond to my emails within hours. Would recommend. UPDATE: on February 2024 we receive prompt service from Fair, Ryan and Mario for help re SRECTrade auto-reporting and troubleshooting a connection issue. Still recommended!

I scheduled a solar install with Solar SME, and the team, led by Mohammed, with Rakan, Udwan, and Jose supporting were beyond amazing. The showed up on time, were super communicative during the entire process, and completed the work diligently, on time and in excellent fashion. I will definitely work with them again, if there is an opportunity for another solar install. Great group of guys!!

Long review but it might help you make an important decision. I will continue to share my experience going forward as well. I live in NE Maryland. So far, so great!! Truly meeting and working with the installation team is where all the worries went away. I can’t take away from the sales, design, and the countless helpful people involved to make this experience more confident and we are almost done and turned on. This was a large and important decision for me, I’m a numbers guy and I love my home. I didn’t want to mess this up and I was worried what I needed would look awful. I was purchasing - little over 27.14kwh system. After 8 years of pricing out, over thinking solar, I had given up making sense of doing it in fear that I would ruin my home. Sales team was super helpful in not making me feel in competition with them on pricing. They worked hard to provide education or perspective where I had questions/concerns. They beat all of or matched the 15 other companies that I had priced over the years for the equipment I wanted. They did so politely and expediently. I pulled the trigger finally and signed. There will be hiccups in the design process, as many different and changing regulations have to come into play for your design to look the way you want and be within code, plus I am picky. Also, my bank thought the check I had written was fraud, so they stopped check. It was weird, I was frustrated, but it got resolved immediately because I knew I had to be just as responsive as they had been. It will come together when you meet the installation team. Hands down I might be lucky because I think I got the best one at SME. Logistically they had it down. I randomly got messages that I was getting a delivery. It was the panels. The team showed up 10 minutes before that fedex truck arrived. I’m not saying that’s even possible, maybe my luck. They started immediately and didn’t stop. I made a point to get to know the project manager, Mohammed. What an incredibly smart, humble, helpful and accommodating professional. His leadership is that of which you can’t find and I have been coaching and building leaders my entire career in financial services. His team, Rakan, Jose, and Udwan(other Mohammad) . Were the hardest most cohesive crew, start to finish. They are outstanding humans. truly looked forward to seeing them each when they were here. They were all seen as guests of my home and trusted them being there when I was not. I tried to arrange my schedule to be around the best I could, things happen. They were all extremely nice, polite, and fun. The house looks beautiful to me. I’m excited when some additional light renovations happen in the spring. I’m pumped for the returns on this investment over time. My inspection is next week sometime. I will keep you all posted on this experience from there. Do it.

My solar is up and running. Dan Marino such a professional rep. He still help to resolve issues like one of my inverters union while he was sick. Got my panel up running, got a pro painter to repair electrical outlet area. Got my Pearl certification setup and my SREC application in. I’m glad to have such a great representative who knows the Ins and outs and gets results. Thanks so much for everything. I love seeing my solar app daily and money I’m saving. Thanks much L Bailey
