Compass Solar Energy

The Compass Solar team was very up-front about the process of having Solar PV installed. Constant communications and assurances set my mind at ease. They provided excellent product schematics and recommendations for my region. It has been two years since installation and the system is working great. Spring and fall means virtually no electric bills! The installers were quick, and made the panels look pleasing to the eye. The panels and micro inverters are top notch. The application is user friendly and updates every 15 minutes. I highly recommend Compass Solar to anyone teetering on the edge about going Solar. I went with the 0% interest loan, and the payments plus a low energy bill is still less than what I was paying without Solar. The added bonus is that the warranty is transferable if I decide to move.

I was unsure about solar. There are so many scams and fly by night companies. I researched about 10 companies, between my house in Orlando and my current house in Pensacola. I chose Compass Solar. Jim my salesman was great. He walked me through the process. He helped me find a bank that loaned on the cash value and also helped with the insurance. I have had my solar in for 3 months. I have had to zero bills and one almost zero bill. He also gave me guidance on how the tax credit worked and it did come out to the exact number he quoted me.The system works great so far.

I found myself in over my head with a self installation. I hired another local contractor to bail me out, but after 8 months of inaction I contacted Compass solar. They were very responsive and thanks to their help my system was active 2 weeks after the initial call.

Had a great experience. They walked me through all the steps the only thing I would have to say is I would use their financing. I went through my bank and did a home improvement loan and after interest it was less than half what theirs offered.

Don’t make a mistake to go with this company. Their sales rep lied to us that you can use the solar to file taxes. When we found out during tax time it was all lies, we called the rep and he couldn’t explain. Please read the contract thoroughly before you make a decision.

(A+) For getting my money and getting me to purchase solar. They made it easy. After 4 years with solar, the model failed to account for tree growth so I have a reduction in productivity. Requested cost to get the panels moved (multiple times) and never received a response but did get a call. I had a production issue with panels and it took months to get a warranty issue resolved. (F-) Received a call to day to fix the WARRANTY with the panels. The only words I can give regarding their service is PRICE GOUGING!. They charge $100/hr drive time plus $300/hr for two technicians to come and change out the panel. I am sure they will try and charge for driving to and from the job to gouge even further. I will be filing a better business complaint regarding price gouging. The solar begins to benefit financially following year 10 if you finance it (costs $210/month + basic utility $35 = $245/month). Basic bill before solar was ~$250. This service call alone wipes out the vast majority of the saving for YEAR! And that is to cover WARRANTY work.

Compass has been the better solar company we've had experience with. They were very quick to respond and handled the whole process for us. Our system, after installed, is producing well over what we are consuming. They handled everything from installation, etc themselves and do not outsource anything, as well as having full insurance in case anything goes wrong during install. The sales person, John, was honest and the final install matched what he told us. If you are going solar, Compass is a great choice.

The folks at Compass are awesome to deal with. Their prices were better than anyone else I talked to and the service better. I would highly recommend Compass to anyone who is looking for solar options for their home or business. They have many different options that will fit any situation or budget. The crews that came to the house were very professional and cleaned up behind themselves. They make the process very easy for the customer by taking care of everything so you don't have any hassle to deal with. Compass is also a local company so when you choose to go solar you are keeping the money local.
