**UPDATE**: Updating my review since REC reached out to me and explained the situation and assured me that they are working diligently to resolve the issues with the inspectors and PEPCO. I can appreciate when a company is doing it's best. **OLD REVIEW**: All these positive reviews make me wonder if it’s just been my bad luck. The sales rep was very good at his job and we had the guys come and install the solar panels and electric panel. That was almost 3 months ago, we have failed inspection twice. We have been a year of zero payments and it was sold to us that we can have the benefit of 12 months of SRECS and low bill, time is dwindling and no solar or end in sight to the repeated visits. I t was old breakers on the new panel, connections to the main line were done inside close to the panel as opposed to outside, just one issue after another. I don’t know whether we just have had bad luck or I should take the company as not good at executing, just great at selling.

I have already noticed a significant decrease in my energy bills, and it feels great to know that I am doing my part to reduce my carbon footprint. Installing the solar panels was completed during 2023 and this is the first year with the panels. The first year has been a learning period for us. Our system subtracts the kilowatt hours generated from the amount consumed and our provider only charges us a net amount of electricity we consumed. Andrew spent a couple of hours verifying and explaining our generation and usage. I needed him to explain how our system works and his explanation was flawlessly presented. He was able to explain our system in terms we could understand. We must commend Andrew's knowledge and his ability to verify and explain the system. He provided excellent customer service and highly recommend Renewable Energy as a solar panel service provider.

I needed help with my solar ground mount for our DIY system. I was turned away by multiple companies until I reached Sean with Renewable Energy Corp. He put me in touch with local qualified rack installers. It hasn't been installed yet, but I'm very hopeful. So far Sean has been more helpful that the company I purchased the system through.

We had Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) install solar panels in 2012 and all was well. In January 2024 our 25 year old roof decided to leak like a sieve, and we needed to have a new roof installed, including removal and reinstallation of the solar panels. REC had its contractor come out *the day after* we contacted them to remove the panels, and placed tarps on the roof to mitigate further leaks. In getting estimates for the roof replacement, we discovered that REC *also* was in the roof business, and we had them give us an estimate. The presentation of the estimate by the sales rep who came to our home was clear, good financing options were presented, and the rep was able to address all of our concerns. In the estimate, they proposed we add another 1 KW of solar panels, which would make the entire cost of the project eligible for the Federal renewable energy income tax credit. He also stated that having the REC do both the panels and the roof would save hassles over possible conflicting warranties. REC threw in the cost of high-end gutter guards to remove the cost of gutter cleaning twice a year. We accepted their estimate and waited for good weather for the installation. It took time to get good weather for installation, but the roof went on in one day with state of the art architectural shingles (see photo). They gave us a credit for the solar panel removal they had already done, didn't charge us for the reinstallation, and gave us a break on the unanticipated additional plywood that was needed to professionally complete the roof. We recommend REC for solar projects, and especially for roof/solar project combinations.

Great sales team and very helpful office personnel when calling with questions about my installation. My only issue is they never told me they’d be removing large sections of my living room drywall (that’s where my panel is) despite knowing that’s where the panel was located. The sales rep inspected it before I signed anything but I was never told until the installation crew had already started cutting. I was supposed to have my living room painted the weekend prior (glad it got postponed) but I had large sections of my wall missing for over two months. When I finally called asking when they were sending their drywall guy to repair it as promised, they were very polite and scheduled him to come out that Monday. The man they work with was supposed to come out at 9:00 so I had to take off work, but by noon he informed me that he double booked himself and wouldn’t be able to make it and would come out tomorrow. I couldn’t afford to miss another day of pay, so he reluctantly agreed to come out Saturday even though he doesn’t work weekends which I appreciated. However, he told me he’d be at my home between 9:00 and 11:00, and at 11:01 he called to say he was still at another house working (which confused me because he said they don’t do weekend repairs) in Virginia and was two hours away. It makes me think he never planned on coming, but I was able to cancel my afternoon plans if he could come immediately after. He filled most of the hole without hanging the panel back up. The area he covered leaves a large strip of exposed back wall. This went unnoticed because he left the panel cover off the wall before leaving. I’m still waiting on my system to be turned on, and everything has gone smoothly so far besides that. I feel like they’re a great company, they just need to select more professional contractors.

The team at REC was very organized. No surprises throughout the process. Each member of the team was very responsive to my questions along the way. Pricing was clear. Just turned system on, so I'm excited to see how much I can produce on this 8 panel, 3kW system with Q cell G10 panels

We had our solar panels installed in November. The initial consultation was great and setting up the date for installing was quick to happen. They were happy to require full payment. All seemed to go well. Then our experience changed quickly. The inspection failed for multiple reasons. Both the electrician and installers for the panels had to return and make corrections before our inspector was satisfied. The clean up of random cables and trash was unfortunate as well. Presently 4 of our panels are not working properly. We called and there seems to be no concern to address the issue. We requested paperwork for tax purposes and have yet to receive them. It sure appears they have their money and no longer are interested in customer satisfaction. Would love to recommend this company but until these issues are resolved my review stands. Update: Just received the paperwork requested, very glad to be able to initiate the rebate processes. Huge thanks. Still curious about my 4 panels which are not functioning properly. Will update my review once that has been addressed. Update 1/14/24: All panels are currently working. Thank you! Cindy Jefferson, MD
