UPDATE: The company has new ownership although some of the old contracts are still managed by the original company and staff. Everything has been made right by both the new and old companies which I appreciate. COVERED MY SKYLIGHT, LEFT DEBRIS AND GHOSTED ME. They came and installed a different system and design than what I agreed to have placed on my roof. They also left metal debris and cardboard all over my yard, busted a stone paver with their ladder and trampled my hydrangea in the front yard. I let customer service know and Joy Kangas said they'd be back the following day to clean up the debris and put the agreed upon design in place. The installers refused to put the correct design for the array which was covering my skylight and didn't clean up any of the debris. I have contacted the office several times since and they refuse to even respond at all after a week of waiting and multiple emails. The COO was also contacted as well as the construction manager. These people just don't care. I plan to file a complaint with the city and BBB as they didn't do the work according to the permits and aren't even courteous enough to respond. I'll likely end up having them removed and switching to Tesla since they refuse to honor the contract or find a solution that works for both parties. Having someone disrespect you and your home is just a no-go for me.

Qasir rebooted my solar panel system after a DC power outage had stopped the reporting of the solar-generated electricity to PEPCO. He was professional, solved the problem and put a friendly face to Solar Solution.

This company was superb when they installed my system and for maintaining it for the first 9 years ago. They responded promptly and thoroughly to the minor issues that cropped up from time to time. When my panels were losing efficiency faster than anticipated, they swapped out a bunch of them for new, larger panels at no cost years before they fell below the threshold that would have required replacements under the warranty. Apparently it is now under new ownership and customer service has gone way downhill. They nickle and dime for every minor issue and coordination and communications repair folks is poor. After removing my panels and replacing them after the roof was replaced, they did not bother to turn on the system, much less check its function. At first they were going to charge me $300 to turn it on. When I turned it on and discovered multiple problems with a modem and some of the inverters, there were endless rounds of emails before they actually sent a crew out to check the connections and additional back and forth until the malfunctioning equipment was replaced. Much of that would have been avoided had they simply turned on the system to make sure the modems were functioning and the inverters reporting. And while the supplier replaced 2 inverters, per the warranty , they charged $400 to spend 15 minutes on a flat roof swapping out a good inverter for a bad one.

We picked Solar Solution to put photovoltaic panels on the roof of our DC row house in 2021. The installation team did a great job, and our solar system works flawlessly. Solar Solution gets five stars for designing and installing a system that performs even better than we expected.

Great work all around! The team at Solar Solutions was extremely professional and efficient in everything they did, from permitting in a historic district (normally a nightmare in DC), to optimizing the number of panels, to a quick and tidy installation that didn't even take a full day. Absolutely recommend them to anyone interested in solar for your DC home!
