Look no Further Within 30 minutes of my call, Tom and James, (his apprentice) arrived at my home to check out the issue. The problems were diagnosed, repairs and solutions were suggested. A quote was presented. I was given ample time to consider, ask questions and decide on the path forward. I chose to engage them. He and James (his apprentice) arrived on time, well-prepared, and they worked well together on problem solving to get the job done right and well. Professionalism, highly skilled workmanship and good communication combined wonderfully with creativity to solve our multiple and complex issues. In the end, they went above and beyond the expected scope of the project AND they helped with a resource & plan for a follow-up inspection. Tom has years of excellent experience, great skills and knows the scope of the industry. James, his apprentice, is very skilled and a great communicator. The job site left clean and tidy. Icing on the cake: they both have a wonderful sense of humor. Which, in our case, helped brighten the situation. We were having whole home electrical issues (flickering/dimming lights, appliances only partially working, power strip fried). We found some good reviews on NextDoor for O'Connor and Sons Electric. So, I called them on Monday morning at 8 am. Tom O'Connor asked me some clarifying questions about the issues and based on that was 99% confident he knew what the problem was and could be at the house within the hour. He arrived with his apprentice Jim within the hour as promised. I showed him the symptoms (turned on lights and then a toaster to show the lights dimming). He then went to the circuit breaker box and showed that the voltage was well lower than it should be into the house when the toaster was running (95V instead of 120V, 150V instead of 240V). So, this was a PG&E issue. He recommended I take a video of the voltage measurements for PG&E which I did. He also looked at the electrical pole and noticed that there was a wire dangling from the pole, and he diagnosed this as the neutral wire being cut (which would explain the symptoms). I also took a picture of that for PG&E. After Tom and Jim left (within only 20 minutes of arriving) - I called PG&E and stressed the urgency of getting a repair person to fix this. At 12:40 pm the PG&E tech. arrived and confirmed that squirrels had chewed through the neutral line. He replaced it and the house electricals are back to normal. Tom was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable about troubleshooting and direct in communication. I strongly recommend O'Connor & Sons Electrical for your electrician needs.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom O’Connor on a unique challenge - replacing a part (power meter socket) on an old, obsolete electrical panel. Tom coached me on how to work with the city, pointed me in the right direction to find the needed part, and he performed the repair… all while keeping me thoroughly entertained with his sense of humor.
