StraightUp was quite easy to deal with and both the city inspector and Ameren inspector commented on what good work StraighUp does, adding that they’ve seen other providers doing shoddy work and even abandoning projects after the customer has paid in full. StraightUp has also followed up 6 months later spotting a faulty inverter and then doing the necessary remedial work without me prompting them. This is definitely a top notch outfit in a field where there are numerous questionable providers.

StraightUp Solar has taken care of daughter & son-in-law, and now my wife and I. Our panels have been up a short while, and we haven't experienced a full billing cycle yet, but the last month (1/2 billing cycle) billing was $54.00. The first sit-down with the StaightUp rep. (Mr. Mueller) was straight-forward, easy to understand, informative, and not salesy at all. From that point on, it only got better, as everything is explained before it happens, as it happens, and then as follow-up. Timely service as promised, which is so unusual in today's world. Truely, a great experience that I recommend to everyone. No glitches or hitches. We expect a long time of savings from our investment with StraightUp. I wish all of my investments were this easy and this rewarding.

We are just finishing up our Solar Project and the folks at StraightUp have made the experience about as seamless as possible. We had sat through presentations by two other companies and were not sure what to do. Both were not local, and one of them had a rather sketchy financing program that seemed like more of a complicated scheme of some sort. Finally, we contacted StraightUp Solar, as they had completed our daughter and son-in-law's project a bit more than a year ago, (and they were quite satisfied). Drew came out and gave us a very straight-forward presentation full of details, facts, and figures. Nothing sketchy at all. He laid out a step by step plan and timeline. The rest was smooth sailing. All permitting, installation, inspections, etc., were as promised. Communication was thorough and consistent for every phase of the project. Their complete oversight of each detail was spot-on. No worries. We couldn't recall receiving this kind of A-1 treatment for anything we have purchased over the years (we are 65). These folks are local, have a great track record, offered the best price, and performed better than expected on a timely basis. StraightUp Solar installed a solar system on my office building in Chesterfield, MO 10 years ago. They did a great job and were very responsive afterwards when our inverter had some issues. Besides the inverter, we never had a problem with the system. Recently, I also had them install another solar system on my home. Even though I had a good experience with them previously, I still got 2 other bids. StraightUp Solar had the most competitive price and thus they won my business again. In order to get the system installed in time to qualify for an Ameren rebate that expired at the end of 2023, they came right out and got the system installed ASAP and also got Ameren out to inspect and issue my rebate before the deadline. I highly recommend this company and the professionals I've worked with there.

We recently decided to take the solar plunge, being 70+ years old we knew we’d never recover the cost of the investment even with the current incentives available in Illinois. For us, the prime motivation was Energy Independence/Security. After contacting five solar companies we chose Straight Up Solar (SUS) what struck us was their no-pressure presentation by Mr Dixon and ensuring all our concerns and needs were addressed on the spot. We got down into the weeds with in-depth discussions of the equipment being suggested and any options. After discussing system performance and our needs we opted to oversize the PV system (scaled to cover 125% of our annual average consumption) as Phase 1. Phase 2 in 12 to 18 months when we’ll add whole house battery backup. The extra capacity will support the batteries. SUS was easy to work with and has a great reputation in IL/MO. They worked with me revising our system many times and once we had a design that met all our needs both today and into the future, we selected them. Once the project was about to start Mr Melton was assigned as our Project Manager and was instrumental in pulling this all together while entertaining our last-minute changes and myriad of questions to make last-minute changes to our system design. That ensured a successful project. The SUS team did everything, all we needed to do was provide info as requested and sit back. Their installation team came from Mid-America Electric and Eric, Steve, and David were detail-orientated craftsmen. I show off their handy work to all my neighbors. Seeing their electrical work both inside and outside our home is a pleasure. Neighbors have commented on how good it looks and were initially concerned about what the end project would look like based on their past experiences. I joked they should have autographed one of the junction boxes they installed. In addition, they were never too busy to answer our questions and show us exactly what they were doing. Drilling holes, making complex electrical connections, and climbing all over a new house are stressful, they eased our concerns. Their work passed all the required inspections without a single issue or question. Liam from Straight Up Solar was the on-site supervisor and was a pleasure to work with and we felt comfortable leaving our home in his hands. Our system was commissioned on Sept 20th, and to our surprise we received our Permission to Operate (PTO) Certificate the very next day from AMERENIP. That has to be a record. We did have an issue post-commissioning with incorrect Consumption data production being reported via the Enphase app. Liam stepped in when the issue was identified made two visits to correct the issue and even continued to monitor our system that evening remotely to confirm all was well. That is customer service above and beyond any expectation. In conclusion, the entire process from Straight Up Solar exceeded all of our expectations. It's been a pleasure working with this team. We got our first electric bill yesterday after having our 6.5 kW solar array installed for a month. Our bill was for $71. Prior to that we paid $154 every month (budget billing)! As for StraightUp Solar, the installation went great, we barely knew they were even here, and they were real good about answering all my questions - and there were a lot!

The team that installed my system was by far the most professional, most knowledgeable, and most courteous, I’ve dealt with on any project in 20-years as a home owner. I talked in detail to five different installers before deciding to go with the StraightUp Solar. There were companies that had more competitive prices, however I felt the quality, experience, and knowledge level wasn’t the same. StraightUp Solar answered all my questions and provided a better understanding of solar power as a whole. The other companies I talked to did not fully understand Illinois’ Solar Renewable Energy Credits process. StraightUp Solar was not only knowledgeable, but filed the necessary paperwork on my behalf. The entire team were courteous, respectful and took care while working in our brand-new home. I highly recommend StraightUp Solar! I was extremely impressed with the company's organization, interactions, and professionalism - its clearly a top-notch operation. The coordination, planning, implementation, explanation and support are among the very best service companies. Combine that with top of the line hardware and it's a winning combination. We received 3 bids and Straight Up was competitive, so we went with them based on reputation - very glad we did.
