Underwhelming experience with these guys after 1+ year with them. Nice sales people. Installation crew was pretty disrespectful to our property. Stuff like leaving ladders laying on top of plants over night, dinging our walls, tracking dirt in the house, etc. We brought it up and they half-heartedly apologized but didn't do anything to fix it. After the first year, the system generated 10% less than the guaranteed amount. We had a SoCal Edison true up bill of $2100. How much did the so called "guarantee" reimburse us? We were told that we would receive a check for about $100, which was insulting In reality we have received $0.00 from them. They never sent the check. I've called and spoke to Sun Solar and they essentially pass it off to SunPower and told me to take it up with them. I have been very disappointed after having high hopes. We paid more for the solar lease + true up this year than we ever paid for electricity. Update: year 2 we paid $3000 to SCE in annual true up. My SunPower app says I generated 18k v. my guarantee of nearly 21k. When I asked SunPower about my guarantee check (which probably would have been like $80 vs the $3000 I spent) they said my system generated just a tiny bit above my guarantee. So which is it?? Is their app wrong? Or is their rep wrong/lying? Either way, I'm hosed. Feb 2024 Update: Our true up this year is $8000. When I look at my SunPower app, my system generated HALF the contracted power last year. When I contact SunPower they say there is a problem with my system. Ah, ya think? They say it started in July of 2023 but it is my responsibility to monitor THEIR system. They own the system. I lease it. So what are they doing to fix it? They will call me in 2 days to schedule a service visit. Who knows when that will be. I suspect they will come out, fix something, tell me the lost power from last year is my problem, and continue to provide some of the worst customer experience I've ever witnessed. And I'll be out the $8000. Maybe I'll get a $30 gift card for my "inconvience" as they described my true up bill.
