John Owens Services just installed a new heat pump space heater/cooler in our home, and we are really happy with their work! We ordered a 3-ton ducted system with an outdoor Mitsubishi SUZ-KA36NA2 condenser and an indoor Mitsubishi SVZ-KP36NA air handler, shown in the attached photos. The John Owens team was very thorough with this job, doing load calculations for each room and a blow test on our ducts to determine the best solution for us before they got the contract. Their discipline and ingenuity set them apart from other bidders. They had also installed our heat pump water heater a few years ago, and we appreciated the quality of their work and follow up. Finding a great contractor to electrify your home can take time and due diligence, but it makes a big difference in the end. So we highly recommend them for heat pump installations in the North Bay!

John Owens is THE heating contractor for Marin, Petaluma and Santa Rosa. We are in West Marin and they installed a new Renai Demand heating system for our 1981 home with old baseboard hot water heating system. A complicated setup but they sent three professional heating plumbers to install it in one day. A year later, Tim O’Brien has just come out for a complementary visit to inspect and add more compound and everything is working perfectly! We could not be happier! A highly professional company!

Cody was exceptional explaining options and how everything in our system (heat pump, filtration, air scrubber) functioned with focus on customizing the system for us. I’d give him an A+. Kenney led the installation team. Tim led the inspection, cleaning and sealing of all of our ductwork. Both were also good communicators, kind people, and clearly excelled at what they do. They all went the extra mile to insure our needs were met. We would welcome any of them in or home.

I was looking for a leak detection and repair company and found John Owens on google. I told them I needed to have leaks in my irrigation system fixed. Abel came that day and was friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. He found 2 leaks by visual inspection and fixed them, charging $1225 (incl a 10% discount )for 4 hours work, but the system continued leaking. He didn’t have leak detection equipment, although it advertised that on their truck, and said their specialist was very busy. So I had to pay $1000 for another company to use a detector to find the major leak.

John Owens services and everyone from the front desk to the many service professionals I have worked with are stellar. It is an extremely well run company thst has helped me with a number of Issues ranging from selecting and installing a new furnace to electrical, plumbing issues to troubleshooting and replacing necessary breakers. I cannot speak highly enough about their thoroughness at the same time efficient work ethic. Each professional with whom I have interacted takes pride they do.

I have used John Owens twice since I have moved back to Santa Rosa and will rate his business 5 star both times. Office personnel are polite, responsive and follow up. The first experience I had was right after buying a house and the water heater had a leak and needed replacing. The house insurance company sent two different plumbers out who didn't know a thing. I finally just looked up a local and happened to choose Owens. We had been without hot water for 10 days. He cancelled his next day weekend activity and replaced our water heater. The second time it was the furnace. The technician was David Caron, perfectly on time when he said he would arrive, was more than happy to talk to me about everything he was checking, completely cleaned up any anything. Just an all round great experience.

We were really concerned when we saw a large water leak coming from our water heater in the late evening. We called John Owens early in the morning and the dispatcher got a plumber out to our house 30 min later! Abel was great, very friendly and sweet with our dog, also very knowledgeable and explained that we only had a leaking pipe…. He took care of everything and I would highly recommend him! From start to finish they worked smooth and efficiently. From the estimate with Ray, who came out a day after I made the call. Ray also was very helpful, gave me his contact info so if/when questions came up, and responded quickly. The office team was helpful with Kristina being available for finance and project questions, also offered great discounts. They sent an excellent install team of Jario, Tommy, and Tim who got the job done FAST, and in the rain I might add. Super friendly people with Bay Area Ties.
