We spent a lot of time researching and getting bids from a number of outfits to replace our gas furnace and air conditioner with a multi zone heat pump. We also knew that our existing ducts were undersized and that the attic ducts needed to be replaced. All that said we still had questions and were looking for alternate solutions. We got various proposals from a number of different outfits, but it seemed that most did not want to spend the time to really dig into the end result that we were looking for - most just wanted to bid and leave, and when we had followup questions to really try too understand what would work best and what might not. Since we were planning a large investment, we had lost of questions, some of them "what if" type of questions. The bottom line is that Charlie (the owner) was the only person who patiently addressed our questions and concerns. This is why we decided to go with Affordable. When Charlie Jr, and crew (CJ and Angel) showed up, the attention and consideration that Charlie Sr. showed us when winning our business was continued and amplified. Our confidence in our decision started going up from the minute the crew came by to scope out the job to prepare for the start date. During demo/installation, they addressed every single question and discussed every alternative at each step, They listened to us and also provided insights and options. What a great crew! These folks really takes pride in their work - they aren't just collecting a paycheck. Their attention to detail at every step was wonderful. I was apprehensive about such a large project, since I have had less than perfect experiences with other large and expensive projects. Affordable was like a dream - everything went smoothly, there were no surprises, and we now have a system that we feel very confident in. I highly recommend Affordable. I would work with them again without hesitation.

We asked three local HVAC companies to bid for a single room mini-split heat pump. The first two either didn't respond or came back with a high bid for an undersized unit. The third company was Affordable Heating, and thankfully Charlie Sr. took the time to listen to what we needed and came back quite quickly with a bid that was very reasonable, and within our budget. They set up installation quicker than I expected (two weeks), and the two man crew doing the work were everything you'd want from a contractor: on time, professional, quick, and they cleaned up after the job. Affordable even helped arrange rebates offered through local utilities, that made this a better deal than I had realized. The new mini-split is super-efficient, works great and we are more than happy with the results! We'd definitely recommend them.

Charles and his team is amazing! We needed HVAC installed in our rebuild in Boulder Creek after the CZU fire. I’d received a few estimates from other contractors who seemed uninterested in the project and produced ridiculous quotes. When Charles came by from Affordable Heating and Air he showed up with energy and enthusiasm and immediately understood what we needed for our rebuild. He had good ideas and quickly got us a quote that was far more affordable than others. They were very patient with our mortgage company’s slow insurance payments and very patient with our build schedule. During the overwhelming stress of losing our house and going through this rebuild, we felt very well taken care of by Affordable Heating and Air. Charles and his team are top notch. Highly recommended.

Charlie Jr. and staff were professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. They were on time and cleaned during and at the completion of the project. I especially appreciated the explanation of how the heat pump functioned and how it was installed. Having now used the system all this Summer (2023), we are saving substantially in our propane bill and haven't seen a major increase in our electricity bill. We now have both AC and heating at a much more efficient and cheaper than our old heating system.

Starting with the quote, they showed a great knowledge of the options and what would fit our needs. With other companies, I felt a bit like they were trying to upsell me when I didn’t have a good basis for making an informed decision. They installed a heat pump for us, including permits, rewiring the, electrical, ducting, and testing, and it went as well as we could have ever hoped. Definitely recommend.

I cannot say enough great things about this company, except that they are an excellent business! From the initial call to schedule a free in-home estimate, to the ease of payment, everything about the sale and installation of our new furnace and thermostat from Affordable was pleasant, thorough and worry free. Theirs was the best of 4 estimates (3 for the same exact furnace and services). Every member of their team was pleasant, knowledgeable, and skilled. The installation was meticulously done with spotless cleanup. Without reservation I recommend this team, and in the future will be using them exclusively for any projects they cover.

*EDIT after response from company: Your response is filled with lies. Firstly you did not come back to my house the next day. We have cameras all over our property, so this did not happen. Why would you come to a customers house without their knowledge? Why would you not call the customer to confirm if they were even home? I was told by your receptionist that you do not typically come out to where we live because it is so far (14.5 miles), so why would you come back out that far without scheduling something? Second, I did not "refuse" the appointments offered to me. I could not take time off work to accommodate the time YOU wanted to come out to fix the problem YOU caused. When I asked for a 3:00pm appointment your receptionist told me no because that would make your guys get back to the shop too late. I was told THREE times by your receptionist that I would hear back from you, the owner. I did not ever once receive any communication from you until I wrote this review. I would never use your company again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. When I initially called they were eager to help. Our heater was not working, would shut off and not turn back on, so they sent someone out. He concluded that the reason it does not work is because we changed the face plate of the heater (we had swapped it for a smart thermostat). He swapped out the faceplate to a much simpler one and charged us $90 for it plus the other fees. Well, it did not fix anything. I have now called five times in hopes to get a phone call back (this started back in October). I have spoken to the receptionist and told her what happened TWICE and she said she would talk to her manager and get back to me. She has not once attempted to call me back. I have left messages the other three times. Its very unfortunate that they did not even respect a paying customer enough to return a phone call. I would not recommend using their services.
