We had severe flooding issues in our home and someone I deeply trust told me to give Paul Silva a call from AmericanDry and that he was the best waterproofer in the northeast. When Paul came to give the estimate, he spent 5 hours with me and went over everything in extreme detail. I’ve never once in my life had an inspection be this thorough. Paul takes extreme pride in his work and it really shows. Our basement was actually flooding when he was over and he even helped me clean up. When the crew arrived to do the work, they were all extremely professional, clean, and answered all my questions as they arose. When the job was done, they did an excellent job cleaning up and left our basement spotless. Since our system was installed, we haven’t had any issues and I wanted to wait to write this review until after a mega storm to see what the result was. There was one day last month where we got almost 4 inches of rain (which is a LOT), and we didn’t get one drop of water in our basement. Paul has seriously been a lifesaver and I can’t thank him and his team enough. If you have flooding issues I wouldn’t hesitate to call him, it was worth every penny.

I am compelled to share my experience with American Dry, which has been deeply disappointing. The pumps installed by American Dry are incessantly active, turning on and off every 15 to 60 seconds, depending on the season. This not only creates a constant and annoying noise but also raises significant concerns about the system's long-term functionality and durability. Adding to our dismay, we've noticed an increasing number of cracks in our foundation. This worrying trend suggests that the system is not solving our problems but may actually be exacerbating them. Furthermore, the support provided by American Dry has been underwhelming. Their response and assistance stand in stark contrast to the assurances and promises made during the sales process. I would strongly advise potential customers to engage with civil engineers before making any decisions. In our case, consulting with civil engineers revealed that such a system was inherently unsuitable for the specific conditions of our property.

Response from the owner

We were deeply concerned to read your review regarding the sump pump system we installed at your property. At American Dry Basement Systems, we are committed to ensuring the satisfaction and safety of our customers, and it’s clear that your experience requires our immediate attention. We appreciate your patience in the past with the adjustments made to the sump pump and the dry well discharge pipes. We understand your concern about the frequent activation of the pumps. Given the unique groundwater conditions of your property, which necessitated a third sump pump station, this frequent activation is a crucial function in effectively managing the higher-than-average volume of water your property experiences. It’s worth noting that situations like yours, requiring additional tweaks to handle unpredictable swelling groundwater, are rare, occurring in about 1 in 500 of our installations. Regarding the cracks in your foundation, we take this issue very seriously. Our systems are designed not just for efficient water management but also to protect the structural integrity of your foundation. We have not been notified of any civil engineer reports concerning these cracks, nor have we been approached about this since our last communication in March 2023. We have extensive experience working on properties owned by civil engineers who have attested to the effectiveness of our systems in maintaining foundation integrity. We would like to inspect these foundation cracks and examine any reports or assessments you have regarding them. Understanding the full scope of the issue is vital for us to provide an effective solution. Please get in touch with us directly at our office so we can discuss these matters further and arrange a time for an inspection. We are committed to resolving any issues and ensuring your complete satisfaction with our service.

We just had American Dry Basement install a waterproofing system in our basement. We've had issues with water in our basement and needed a total solution so we can sleep at night and go away without worrying about flooding. Steve T from American Dry came to our house and presented us with what the solution will look like and thoroughly explained the entire process. He also answered all our questions and was always available to talk to. He is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent professional to work with. Then Wilson and his two-man crew came to do the work and they were all professional, extremely hard working and respectful of our home. They always started early and worked all day long to get the job completed. They wrapped up all items that were still exposed after we cleaned out most of our basement, used vacuums and filters to minimize all the dust and left our basement cleaner than it was before. We highly recommend American Dry Basement Systems and we're so happy we chose them over the others we received estimates from. And their price was more than competitive for what we believe is a much better solution. Thank You, Kurt and Beth.

Response from the owner

It's wonderful to hear that American Dry Basement Systems met your needs with both their effective waterproofing solution and their dedicated service. Thank you for highlighting the hard work and professionalism of Steve and Wilson’s crew. We're glad we could help bring you peace of mind about your basement. Thank you, Kurt and Beth, for trusting us and sharing your positive experience!

These folks are top notch! My husband and I worked directly with Paul to get this system installed. After years of dealing with water infiltration, not a drop after that! Paul and the entire staff are extremely accommodating and the pricing was the best out there. You won't be sorry.

Response from the owner

Thanks a ton for the awesome review, Laura! Super glad to hear Paul and the team could keep your place dry after all that trouble with water. Happy that you found our pricing fair too. We're here if you ever need anything else. Cheers for choosing us!

Update: 10/24: we had 2 crew men come and update the work. They ensured all areas of the wall were evenly treated and found that there was a leak at the ejector pump connection outside the wall that was brining water back towards the basement. I am glad that this was discovered and remedied. We appreciate the follow up and their commitment to customer satisfaction. We have changed our rating from 2⭐️⭐️ to 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Update: 10/3: subsequent to this review, we are promised that a crew will come and address our concerns. We hope to provide an update at that time. Original review: We were really impressed by the work discussed in the youtube videos and on their website, but that’s where it falls short of expectations. The actual work was completed in a timely fashion but we had areas of poor coverage (photo) and overall design. We had a leak after the installation that had to corrected . After placing calls, we did not hear back. The background: We had new gutters installed that routed the water to an exterior area of our basement which started to bring in water thru the walls with heavy downpour. The system installed is really meant to capture water coming from underneath the floor and not the walls as was our case. Their design however did not take this into account after a significant investment $$$$ later, we are back to square one as can be seen in the pictures. Their office has not been consistent in their replies, once not showing up as scheduled and we are told about the staff turnover and other concerns within this offshoot of the original parent company. If you plan to go with their system make sure to clarify that the system meets your needs. An example of how poor customer service ruins a good company.

Response from the owner

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced and are genuinely disheartened to hear that our service did not meet your expectations. We take your concerns seriously and are committed to reaching a resolution. Recently, we had an unprecedented storm leave close to 7 inches of rain in our area. We had a damp year, so it only takes a standard rain to make any waterproofing system useless. Our approach, in this case, succeeded. It performed beautifully. About your photos, the damp brick walls are still undergoing crystallization from our special concrete, and that is condensation on the floor near your service pipes. Concrete runs warm after application, and service pipes run cold. The two combined create unavoidable condensation. No water is coming up from underneath the floor. I assure you that our special concrete is growing between the mortar of your brick and stone walls. This growth process takes hold immediately and continues to grow until it fills gaps and cracks where it was applied. We stopped the possibility of flooding. The damp walls will also stop after the concrete fully cures. We want to address and fix your concerns directly, and our Operations Manager has contacted you to discuss a solution. We value your feedback and are determined to restore your faith in our services.

We had seasonal flooding in the basement of our 1930's home. Paul came for our consultation and walked through options, answered questions, and gave us an estimate. The work crew took three days to install. They were experienced and fast. This work isn't cheap but I'm happy to have a dry basement guarantee. Everyone I talked to at ABDS was professional, punctual, and responsive. Thanks for the good work. I may update later after seeing how the system handles spring rains.

Response from the owner

Isaac, we are so glad to hear that you are happy with the work we did for you. We take pride in our professionalism and responsiveness and are glad that you experienced that. We hope that you will be able to update us later on how the system handles spring rains.

After getting multiple quotes I wouldn't go with any other company or install any other type of system. American Dry were the most personal and professional at explaining our water issue; after a lot of research their system made the most sense to us, Paul was extremely thorough. Priced where they should be, we are very pleased with the results: the new system is worry free and involves no yearly maintenance. They installed a French drain around the entire perimeter of our basement and sealed a few areas inside and outside of the basement where water could find it's way in. The new system is quieter, and the back-up battery keeps our mind as ease in case of power outages. As first time home owners we saw water leaks constantly before getting fully flooded during hurricane Ida. Amid medium to heavy rain our basement with two sump pumps and a small French drain would still receive water leaking from the foundation, all the way up the wall between the cinder blocks. We came to find water was backing up in the walls, so they drilled weep holes at the base of the wall allowing water to access to the new drain relieving any pressure against them. This was not done by the previous company. Not even a water trickle for the first two months after rain has melted all of our snow. Will follow up come spring time. Look at the videos on the website and you'll learn for yourself why they have the most comprehensive basement system.

Response from the owner

Nick, the team at American Dry Basement Systems really appreciates your stellar review. We are happy that you like the work we did, and we will always be here to provide you with service and support. Thank you. Stay dry.

My wife and I were experiencing water issues in December of 2019. We went through every company you can think of that works the State of Connecticut. We really had 2 companies that we were intrigued to hire. We decided to go with American Dry Basement Systems, because of their process/procedure in cutting the basement floor. As well as applying the super-slurry and super-crete. A crucial piece that was taken into consideration as our home was built in the early 1940's. As well as to have the peace of mind the structural integrity wasn't disturbed, waterproofing concept, and not introducing cold joints. My co-worker highly recommended American Dry Basement Systems and I have to credit the owner for having all the youtube videos as well as social media presence. These two avenues to get future customers is what truly sets them apart from competitors. So much knowledge is transferred! Our sales representative Dennis, was amazing when he entered our home and explained everything. Of course he knew it was a touchy subject since our basement was finished. To need demo and reconstruction was a big concern, however we knew to correct the issue was the most important aspect. Dennis received a lot of phone calls from me, he definitely was easy going on every question I had and help ease our minds. Within 3 weeks of signing everything the work started. The crew lead by Jamey were great!! They were able to get the concrete opened up and partially trenched within a day. Total completion time was 3 days, but I rather the quality of work done. We wanted the guys to work in an environment they enjoyed. We offered them soda and water. We even gave them a bluetooth speaker to use while they were working to enjoy music. They were very thankful for the hospitality we showed them. After all said in done, the work was completed to our satisfaction, they was a slight issue with the concrete level to the existing floor. I let the customer service representatives know and immediately contacted me to schedule a foreman to come by the house on Wednesday. Overall I am giving American Dry Basement Systems a 5 Star rating it has been an absolute pleasure for the company to customer / customer to company relationship. From the office, sales, and construction employees, they all were fantastic!! I can't wait to see this system work better to keep our basement dry!!! Especially nice to have a proper system over a bucket with holes and no channels connecting to it.

Response from the owner
