This company is very hard sell. I felt pressured to sign a contract and pay the deposit before I was comfortable with the proposal. For example, I was told that the pump would spill out in the middle of my front yard, and that it wouldn’t become a puddle. I didn’t like the idea of a visible drain pipe in the middle of my lawn spitting out water. After I asked, the salesperson agreed that a dry well could be installed to disperse the water, but it was me who offered it as a solution. I think he mainly wanted a signed contract and deposit as quickly as possible. There were too many unsatisfactory answers. This is a reputable company that seems like it does good work, but it was much too high pressure for me. I went with another company and I’m glad I did. They were less expensive and easier to deal with.

Refinishing a basement is expensive so it needs to be done correctly. CT Basement Systems created a space more beautiful than we had ever imagined possible. Sean Duffy, Arkadiusz Dobrzycki, and Julie Marra (project manager) did such a great job, and they were very easy to work with. Everything was done properly and according to code. Work was done in a timely manner as promised, and it was done meticulously. Our basement is perfect in every way. Thank you!!

From the beginning to the end the experience wasn’t at all stressful! The job was executed exactly according to Don’s electronic plan of our basement - disappointingly, though , our town required a building permit which delayed the work project by 4 months - and on top of that the rainy fall was resulting in more basements flooding! All in all - a great experience - the team left my basement in great condition - they were respectful of our property inside and out . Our sump pump system was tested 2 days later with heavy rain and passed with flying colors ! Thank you Larry and your dedicated staff onsite and off .

The spring and summer rain this year in Connecticut was problematic for my basement as on moderate rain storms, water would routinely run down the stairs of my bulkhead and through the seal at the base of my basement door. This would cause large puddles to form in my basement which required hours of cleanup with a wet vac and mop. I hired Connecticut Basement Systems to come in and fix my problem forever. I saw their video on YouTube and that’s how I found them. I made an appointment for a consultation and then a couple of week later I had my project scheduled. They installed a floor drain into a sump pump system with triple redundancy (three separate pumps on different power circuits, one is a battery backup) and while they were here I added an engineered dehumidifier that drains into the sump pump basin. This system is engineered for performance. The workmanship is great. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and cleaned up the whole area when they finished. This job is also done in two parts, the drainage system installation and the electrical which is scheduled for completion after the first of the new year. So my current installation is up and running on temporary power (I.e., extension cord that powers two pumps). the permanent installation will involve hard wiring to the electrical box. Obviously the battery backup powered pump is up and running. I would recommend this company if you want to solve this problem once and for all. #ConnecticutBasementSystems

We recently moved into our new home during the summer and experienced not only a flood, but also had to get mold remediation done. We wanted to remove the source of the problem, so enter Connecticut Basement Systems which came very highly recommended to help stop water from coming into our basement and prevent water damage from happening in the first place. We also needed to get two crawl spaces fixed up to put up a moisture barrier. I was thrilled to get started with them. We made an appointment in August without hesitation due to the high recommendations and the earliest they could offer was October. The sales person was very responsive, very helpful, answering all questions through the process leading up to installation day. We were told to plan for 3 days, they ended up taking two. Totally fine if they had not have rushed to get the job done in 2 days and done such a poor job that has now been a frustrating process to get resolved since. Why not take the full 3 days originally planned and do a great job instead of rushing through 2 days? Right after installation, the sump pump they installed was leaking water into the basement from the pipe it was installed with. I’m talking, they finished at 7 pm, I arrived home around 10:30 pm and the wall and floor was wet from leaking water, super close to the electrical cords btw. Upon further inspection I noticed the poor workmanship of the clean space walls that were put up. Holes everywhere!! Holes on a wall covering specifically placed to keep water and moisture from entering the walls!! The placement of the clean space wall also looked poorly installed, not tight around seams , looked like it was just thrown up without much care. Honestly looked like someone just threw it up and slapped on some tape. There are several areas where the clean space wall meets the water guard drainage system in the floor and it isn’t tightly sealed and if water came in could easily splash out. Now, I’m not getting picky about aesthetics, I want what was installed to be functional. Aka, no holes in a wall where water could come in, seams tightly sealed, things sealed and seamless as the whole point is to be waterproof. Also, in the original plan that was discussed the sump pump was to be placed in an entirely different space. Why was it placed differently? I was told it was an “oversight”. So someone didn’t follow the plan? I was told it had to be 3 feet from the electrical panel. When I spoke with someone after installation they told me I should google to see if that’s correct. Um, what? Why should I be googling to see if something is up to code when that’s the installation crews job to ensure it is up to code. Our basement floor was left covered in mud that we are still mopping up a week later. I get it, it’s messy, but not even attempting to clean and leave things just a little bit better? I was so excited and looking forward to this installation especially after all the 5 star reviews and high recommendations from people who had nothing but a great experience. We had a poor installation team and now they are trying to remedy it by slapping some tape over the holes in walls that shouldn’t have holes in the first place. At least they are trying to fix it I guess. I always give someone a chance to fix it and they did send someone after my persistence to fix the sump pump leak and major issues before we had another rain. We are waiting another 5 weeks for further fixes to be made. Just so disappointed with the whole process of installation and after. We paid an enormous amount of money to have this done fully trusting the process and the company. The company should be giving some of our money back due to the numerous poor quality issues of what was installed. Time will tell how well the system works and what comes of the product. Will update once we have time to see how it performs. It’s only been a week. I’ve included photos of the numerous holes left in the clean space wall and poorly sealed seams as well as the leaky pipe from the sump pump installed.

Fantastic company!! We did a partial basement remodel that was basically an “in law suite”, to create more space for our disabled adult daughter. It’s difficult to envision what you want in an unfinished dirty basement. Mick came out initially to explain the process and get an idea of what we were hoping to achieve. After signing on with them, their project manager Eamon came out to measure and go over the original blueprint with us. He was fantastic in presenting us with different design options, and we tweaked it along the way. It can be a very stressful process and he always put us at ease on those occasions! Mike the foreman was also great and very detail oriented. Everyone who worked on the project, including Noah, Jacob and Steve the Plumber, was awesome! They were all professional, courteous and respectful of both us and our property. The end project came out better than we had imagined and Eamon came by for a walk through to make sure everything was perfect and that we were pleased. Pleased is an understatement because we are thrilled with the end result! This needed to be perfect for our daughter to feel like she has her own place, which is also the best option for us to keep her at home. They were the 3rd quote we got and the most cost effective of them all! I would highly recommend CT Basement Systems, from the people in the office, to those in the field. Thanks for making our longtime dream come true!!
